Timothy O'Neill, President
Timothy O'Neill (M.S. Mechanical Engineering) is the founder of Measurement Technology Northwest. Since designing and building MTNW's first biophysical instrumentation system in 1987, he has supervised and contributed to the work on many subsequent thermal manikin and guarded hotplate projects, as well as the measurement control systems used in other MTNW instrumentation products. His technical expertise includes real-time control design, sensor research and development, sensor application and accuracy analysis, and engineered material applications to measurement systems.
Mr. O'Neill's selected publications and presentations include:
- R.A Burke and F.T O'Neill. The Development of a Heat Pipe Driven Manikin with Variable Flow Irrigated Skin, The Proceeding of the 6th International Conference on Environmental Ergonomics. Montebello, Canada, 25-30 September 1994
- F.T O'Neill. The Development of a 50th Percentile Thermal Hand, The Proceeding of the 5th International Conference on Environmental Ergonomics. Austin, Texas, page 47-55 September 1990
Richard A Burke, Vice President
Richard A. Burke (B.S. Mechanical Engineering) joined the company in 1989 and has played a key role in the development of a growing line of high-accuracy biophysical test equipment. His broad expertise includes thermal manikin fabrication methods, biophysical testing, and real-time GUI programming. Mr. Burke has collaborated with colleagues at prestigious organizations and laboratories around the world to develop instruments and technical specifications for testing Clo and vapor permeability for a wide range of clothing systems.
MTNW's biophysical instrumentation customers include USARIEM, US Navy
Clothing and Textile Research Facility, British Ministry of Defense, 3M USA,
3M Europe, National Institute of Standards and Technology, NIKE, and Dyersburg Fabrics.
Mr. Burke's selected publications and presentations include:
- R.A Burke. The Design and Application of a Sweating Hand System, The Proceeding of the 8th International Conference on Environmental Ergonomics. San Diego, CA, 18-23 October, 1998

Tomas Rezanka, Product Manager
Tom Rezanka, B.S. Physics, joined Measurement Technology Northwest in 1993 as the Electronic System Design and Production Manager.
Mr. Rezanka's extensive knowledge of monitoring systems includes micro-wire harness design, compact high-accuracy sensors and sensor interfaces, hardware design, and distributed serial communications.
Since joining MTNW he has developed and supervised the manufacture of automated control and monitoring hardware for more than 10 different instrumentation systems. He has supervised LCI installations on oceanographic vessels and marine organizations worldwide, and today, as Product Manager, Mr. Rezanka continues to drive product development efforts that keep Measurement Technology Northwest's line control and thermal control systems at the leading edge of technology.
