NEWTON - Sweating Thermal Manikin

NEWTON Sweating Thermal Manikin
"Newton" is a complete turn-key thermal manikin system perfect for a broad range of clothing/environmental testing. Constructed of a thermally conductive aluminum filled carbon-epoxy shell with embedded resistance wire heating and sensor wire elements, Newton was developed using advanced CAD digital modeling to ensure accuracy and repeatability in both manufacturing and in testing. The Newton system is available in 20, 26, or 34-zone configurations, but the number of zones and other thermal properties can be customized for faster transient response, greater sensitivity, or easier handling. Two 50th percentile body forms are available (Western or Asian Male), in either dry or sweating formats. All packages include PC computer with MTNW's exclusive ThermDAC control software. ManikinPC2 Human Comfort Software

ManikinPC2 Human Comfort Software
Is your manikin REALLY comfortable? ManikinPC2 (Manikin Physiology Control and Predictive Comfort) software is a closed-loop feedback control package that accurately mimics the human thermoregulatory system and provides metrics for thermal comfort and sensation.

Newton + ManikinPC2 is the perfect combination for evaluating thermal comfort within the complex microclimate conditions related to protective clothing ensembles, building, automotive, mass transit (aircraft, train, ferry) climate control, personal cooling systems, and other transient, non-uniform environments. Child Thermal Manikin

Child Manikin
Standing just 55 inches tall (139 cm) and designed to represent the morphology of a 10 year old child, Measurement Technology NW's Child Thermal Manikin is a 15-zone model jointed at the shoulders, hips, knees, elbows, and ankles, with computer-controlled sweating skin and walking motion capabilities. Joints feature adjustable friction control, with ball bearing joints in the hips and shoulders for walking tests. The walking motion is provided by a compact motorized walking stand that also serves as a prep, hanging, and roll-around transportation device.

All systems include our automatic manikin control software program, ThermDAC. The Child Thermal Manikin gives testing labs the capability to test children's clothing to the same thermal comfort standards currently used for adult garment evaluation.

SIMON - Sleeping Bag Thermal Manikin

SIMON Sweating Thermal Manikin
"SIMON" is constructed of a thermally conductive aluminum filled carbon-epoxy shell with embedded heating and sensor wire elements. Developed using advanced CAD digital modeling to ensure repeatability in manufacturing, the Simon system is built in accordance with ASTM and ISO standards to meet the garment evaluation needs of sleeping bag manufacturers and research/testing institutes. Simplified construction and modular control electronics help lower system cost while retaining the advanced features that have made MTNW thermal manikins the industry standard. More on SIMON

NEMO - Submersible Thermal Manikin

NEMO - Submersible Thermal Manikin
"NEMO" is an advanced, fully immersible aluminum manikin with embedded heating and thermistor sensor elements. All heating and control electronics are located inside the manikin for maximum accuracy and easy maintenance. This completely waterproof, true-weight manikin is rated for immersion testing to depths of 10 feet (3 meters), allowing realistic testing of diving gear, marine survival suits, and other protective garments. NEMO features sealed joints with adjustable friction settings at the ankles, elbows, knees, and hips. These joints will maintain their watertight integrity in any pose. NEMO's 50th percentile body form (Western or Asian Male) is available in either dry or sweating formats. All packages include PC computer with MTNW's exclusive ThermDAC control software. Automotive HVAC Manikin System

Automotive HVAC Manikin System
A complete turn-key system for measuring the impact of heating and air conditioning designs within car/truck passenger cabins, the Automotive HVAC manikin is an unheated “Newton” carbon-fiber body form (50th percentile Western or Asian Male) with surface-mounted sensors to measure air velocity (omnidirectional), temperature, radiant heat flux, and relative humidity. All sensors are protected to ensure no damage occurs during manikin loading and positioning.

The HVAC manikin separates into upper and lower halves at the waist for easy insertion into a variety of vehicles. Shoulder joints allow the manikin's elbows to move in or out from the torso, reflecting a range of typical driver positions, and the manikin head can tip by approximately 20° for easier positioning in cars. CAD model graphics can be provided to customers for integration with vehicle simulations. More on HVAC
