Sweating Skin System
- Provides volumetric control of sweat rate, selectable by manikin region
- Network of pores over the surface of the manikin (Western Male 137, Asian Male 134) are spaced to uniformly deliver water to the skin surface
- Removable fabric skin layer evenly distributes water by wicking
- Fluid supply utilizes a single constant-pressure pump external to the manikin
- All electrical connections are moisture-protected for safe use with sweating skin layer
Measurement Technology NW's sweating skin system provides volumetric flow rate control by manikin zone. It is based on a matrix of pores over the active surface of the manikin combined with a removable wicking fabric suit used to distribute water over the manikin surface. Zone controllers within the manikin modulate the fluid volume and distribute it to pores on the skin surface. Using ThermDAC software, each manikin zone can be controlled to a specific flow rate setpoint. Flow rates can be adjusted at any time during the course of a test.
