STAN - Seat Test Automotive Manikin
The Seat Test Automotive Manikin (STAN) was developed to evaluate the thermal comfort and moisture management of automobile seating. The manikin's 50th percentile carbon fiber-epoxy back/buttocks form is an adaptation of the SAE J826 HPM-II body form for superior compatibility with existing automotive seat positioning methods. Integrated weights can be used to control the amount of seat compression. STAN contains six independently controlled thermal zones with optional porous metal sweating skin inserts to simulate metabolic heat and perspiration levels. Lumbar adjustments ensure good contact with the seat being tested. A dedicated PC computer controls manikin temperature and fluid supply while logging data. All packages include MTNW's exclusive ThermDAC control software.

Thermal Hand Test System
MTNW's thermal hand model was developed to provide accurate test measurements for all types of hand wear. Through precise measurement of heat loss, our Thermal Hand Test System is capable of quantifying the effects of glove design, insulation, and ventilation, and is built to reliably perform testing sequences in environmental conditions ranging from -20°C to +50°C. The Thermal Hand Test System is available as both dry and sweating models. The sweating hand model includes a removable wicking fabric skin and a positive displacement fluid metering system. All systems include manikin, PC-based ThermDAC control system, and user documentation.

Thermal Head Test System
MTNW's thermal head model was developed to provide accurate test measurements for all types of headwear. Through precise measurement of heat loss, our head manikins are capable of quantifying the effects of cap/helmet design, insulation, and ventilation with repeatable accuracy, and is built to reliably perform testing sequences in environmental conditions ranging from -20°C to +50°C. MTNW's head manikin is available in both dry and sweating models. The sweating head model includes a removable wicking fabric skin and a positive displacement fluid metering system. All systems include head manikin, PC-based ThermDAC control system, and user documentation.

ST-2 or ST-2XL - Comfort Test System
MTNW has developed the innovative, single zone ST-2 (and larger ST-2XL) Comfort Test Systems to support in-house development of testing procedures and to help evaluate the need for more advanced thermal instrumentation tests. The ST-2 can be used on seats/seat backs, cushions, or mattresses to quickly evaluate their thermal properties and moisture management characteristics. The lightweight ST-2 can be quickly and easily be positioned as needed to evaluate the regional effects of different cover materials or internal construction methods. The larger ST-2XL features increased size and heater power to test highly insulated products such as mattresses and cushioned furniture. Ruggedly made, these turn-key systems can support compression weights to simulate human subjects.
